How it works

From ETS2 telemetry → DTCO LCD → VTC LIVE portal

The overlay runs on your PC and reads ETS2 data through a local telemetry server. It then converts that data into tachograph states (Driving/Break/Rest/Work), logs events, creates printouts and optionally sends live updates to the VTC portal.

Step 1

Telemetry server runs locally

The overlay connects to your local endpoint:

http://127.0.0.1:25555/api/ets2/telemetry

If telemetry isn’t running, the overlay shows a red dot and cannot read speed/state.

Step 2

Overlay extracts live data

  • Speed (km/h)
  • Engine state
  • Heading
  • Location (if provided by telemetry)
Step 3

Tachograph logic updates every moment

States

  • Driving when speed is above threshold
  • Break only after being stopped long enough (armed)
  • Rest while stopped but not armed
  • Work manual mode (toggle)

EU break engine

  • 4h30 driving block
  • 45m break required
  • Split allowed: 15m + 30m
  • Missed break logs an infringement
Step 4

Events & printouts

Overspeed and infringement events are stored persistently. Printouts are generated on demand and saved locally for VTC evidence and roleplay.

Step 5

DTCO LIVE (VTC side)

If LIVE is enabled for your device and your activation is ACTIVE, the overlay sends live status to the portal for fleet dashboards and monitoring.
